Christian Education

CE Clipart

The aim of Christian Education ministry is to provide lifelong learning & growth toward a mature & vital faith.  By providing courses, seminars and conference, we hope to make everyone in TMC – Disciple of Jesus instead of just believer of Christ.

Every year, we organise the following courses:

  1.  Disciple courses – Red, Green Purple & Gold.
  2. Theological Education by Extension (TEE) by Seremban Theological Seminary (STM)

We also encourage brothers and sisters to join seminars/conference that is organised either by annual conference or other Christian organisation.

Do join us in future if there is any course/seminar or conference that the church has arranged.  Together we grow spiritually so that we could be more like Christ.

Worship and Music

At Worship and Music Ministry, we not only aim to enable all church comers to worship God in songs and in music, but also to enhance their worship experience in all other ways. Congregations are led in singing by the Praise & Worship team on Sundays and other occasions, in traditional and contemporary music. While the Choirs have weekly presentation at the Chinese service, it is a monthly event at the English service, usually on the first Sunday of the month, which is also the Holy Communion Sunday for the whole church. The pastors and the leaders are assisted by the Holy Communion Team in giving the bread and the cup as the whole church remembers the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ. Usually behind the scenes, the Floral Decoration Team put up beautifully designed flowers at the altar, while the Ushers and the Traffic Controllers ensure that people are made to feel at home as they come to worship the Lord.

Social Concern

To be a church that is relevant within our community through relationship building, acting justly and to love mercy and to love our neighbour as ourselves (The 2014 Bigger Picture pg 1).

To demonstrate our Lord Jesus’ teachings through involvement in our community, assisting those who need a helping hand spiritually, emotionally and physically.

Trinity Care

Elder Care:- The Target Group is the Elderly members of our community who are well enough not to be in the hospital but not well enough to be left alone at home.

Neighbour Care- The aim of this initiative is to provide care to our neighbourhood.

Trinity Learning Care / Pelayanan Bimbingan Pendidikan Trinity- The main objective is to evangelize to students and their family members while the sub-objectivesare are to elevate financial status of the marginalized through education and an avenue for our congregation to demonstrate God’s love through participating in the ministry. The Target Group is the children of our BM congregation and all those within our community, and our BM adults who want to learn English.

Public Health Forum/Screening:. The Target Group is our neighbours around Ban Hock and Kenyalang areas.

Hospital Care:- The Target Group is Hospitalized patients who just need someone to talk or cheer them up.

Trinity Hope:- The Target Group is the patients from all segment of society regardless of race or religion, referred by church members, relatives and friends.

Community Support

We aim to help those within our community, who are for one reason or another not able to keep up with the pace of development, fallen on hard times, marginalized, and crippled financially due to chronic illnesses or any other reasons.

Bereavement Care

We will lend our support and emotional comfort to our church members in their time          of bereavement through wreaths and attending wake and funeral services.

Membership and Evangelism

M&E has two main components, one being the members' care while the other the evangelism in nature.

In membership, TMC is taking steps to take care of the members. Firstly, we need to know who is who and hence properly register them. A platform to do this is our church directory. For visitors, welcoming teams called 'the greeters' are allocated to welcome the visitors and bring them for refreshment after the church service to get to know them. While the visitors are being led to visitors’ café, there are café teams also assigned to serve visitors with hot beverage and snacks. All these efforts are just to make sure visitors are being noticed and taken care of.

In evangelism, TMC is using the Alpha course to encourage members to bring their unbelieving friends to attend the course. It is a practical introduction to the Christian faith and is open to anyone. It runs as a series of weekly gatherings of which each involves a friendly meal, a talk and small group discussion. There are fifteen talks; covering the basic principles of the Christian faith, and a weekend or day away.

As healthy families are keys to a strong church and society, the marriage course helps couples grow closer and build a healthy relationship that lasts a lifetime. Over 7 sessions, the couples learn practical tools to help them invest time in their marriage.

Small Group

Vision: All members are nurtured and support in growth in a caring small group setting toward maturity in Christ.

Mission : Being and Making Disciples of Christ

Small group is a means of grace given by God to us for developing faith and holiness.

We become fully the persons God created us to be only within the relationships made possible in our community. Our relationship with God is shaped by our relationships with others whom God loves. Our love for God grows and matures through relationships with other Christians.

When we meet in small groups to pray, study Scripture, for accountability and fellowship, and to serve the poor they form relationships of love and trust. As we grow in love and trust with one another, we grow in holiness of heart and life. We will then become disciples who make disciples. Such relationships are not likely to happen in large public settings like Sunday morning worship. This is why small groups are essential to the church’s mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of nations.

24And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,25 not giving up meeting together,as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching (Hebrew 10: 24-25).

Property Management

For the church facilities and equipments, the church office follows a policy of First-Come-First-Served basis and so to avoid clashes in bookings and thus disappointment.

we request that all bookings be done at least one week in advance. Please also state the equipment (if any) needed. Some of the equipment, especially musical equipment and cables need time to be readied.Forms for bookings are available from the ushers as well as on our webpage. We also request that users report any breakdown or faulty equipment.

Trinity Communication Media

The bookroom was the first project undertaken by Trinity Communication Media (TCM). TCM is a vehicle conceived by a few of the brothers and sisters in the church to spearhead in areas of outreach work not covered traditionally. These pioneering works require funding and the bookstore is the means to fund these projects.

The bookroom is well accepted by the Christian Community in Kuching regardless of their church background.  Their patronage has greatly encouraged us. Periodically, our team will venture beyond Kuching and set up book stall and exhibition in Sri Aman and Sarikei. These outings are very fruitful.  Currently, bookroom is the official stockist of Bible for Malaysia Bible Society.

TCM also set up a community centre, namely the "Ban Hock MY Centre", to serve in particular the residents of KMC flat and the surrounding areas.  Tuition classes are offered to the local residents there on a regular basis.

We need more volunteers to help us to extend our territory which God has entrusted to TCM, therefore please feel free to approach us if you are interested to join us in serving in this ministry.

IT & Multimedia

The ITM (Information Technology and Media) Ministry in Trinity Methodist Church (TMC) provides information and technical related services to the entire church.

What do we do?

  • Ensures all hardware and software in TMC are constantly maintained and fully fully functional
  • Provide Audio and Video support to enhance worship experience
  • Participate actively in all ministries and programmes of the church by giving IT related support and solution
  • Create, promote and maintain the TMC's website by disseminating information to both new visitors and members of the church

1 Corinthians 12:4-7 says: There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. 7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.

Want to join us?

If you have skills in these areas or have a desire to serve, we would love to have you on board in the ITM ministry. We encourage you to use the gift that God has given you to serve and to further the kingdom of God.

Trinity Youth

Throughout the Bible and church history, God has always used young people for His glory. King David. Queen Esther. Joseph. Spiritual leaders of these Awakening movements: Evan Roberts, Samuel Mils, and many more. Again and again, God loves to harvest the zeal, energy, and enthusiasm of the young people for His kingdom. Amen?

In Trinity Youth, we seek to build youths that love God and love people. Our vision for 2020 is to deepen our relationship with God through prayer and worship; to build stronger relationships with each other. We yearn for youths to accept Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour. To know how sweet God’s fatherly love is, and to be filled up with the Holy Spirit, that they may live each day as salt and light in a dark and broken world.

To fulfill our first aim, our activities include Bible Study (to gain logos of who God is) and Worship and Prayer Night as well as Ministry Time (to experience God personally). In our effort to reach our second goal, we have bonding activities, like Game Night, Movie Night, and more. These are vital to build a young Christian community where we can rely on each other for support through curveballs in life.

As a fellowship, Trinity Youth is a safe space for anyone, from any background to share with us their life journeys, ideas, and dreams. We offer a listening ear and support for your struggles and pain. We understand the world seems big, scary, and complicated for us inexperienced youths. Navigating through life is challenging as we try to answer life’s biggest questions like “What is the meaning of my life? Why am I here? Who am I?” At youth, we can’t promise an answer to ALL these questions, but we can walk through life together – so that the road would not seem so dark and lonely.

Young people, we all want to do something big. Be it solving poverty, ending wars, or curing AIDS; all of us have big dreams. However, before we face the world, we need to have a strong foundation in Christ to not sway from the right path. Thus, let us build THAT foundation in our teenage, formative years. Come, join Youth and let us spend our golden years getting to know God, to honor Him as we were called to do.  See you on Saturday, at 7.30 pm-8.30 pm, at the Chapel of Good Samaritan!

Sunday School

To reach children with the Gospel and to bring them up as disciples.

We meet every Sunday from 10.30 am to 12 noon at L3 Fellowship Hall for Praise and Worship before the children proceed to their respective classes. We have classes from Kindy to Primary 6. We reach children with the life changing truth and wisdom of the Bible through teaching Bible content, praise and worship and special programmes like Character Building, Memory verse Sunday and Evangelistic Sunday. The children learn to know God and can personally experience spiritual development. Psalm 127:3 says, "Children are a heritage from the Lord". With God's help the SS Ministry can pass on the baton of faith to the future generations. We need to reach and teach children aged 4-14 to be God's agents of transformation in our communities.

We are always in need of teachers and we pray for more brothers and sisters to guide our children to grow in wisdom and stature. Be our partners in this ministry.
